Overview

Vanessa McCamant practices medical malpractice defense litigation in Smith Haughey’s Grand Rapids office. An attorney with 14 years of experience, she specializes in medical malpractice defense, healthcare professional licensing defense, and health law, representing physicians, nurses, other healthcare professionals and healthcare facilities.

Practicing medical malpractice for much of her career, Vanessa has dedicated time to presenting at many conferences and panels, as well as being published on the subject. She earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, while there she also received a certificate in Health Law from DePaul’s Health Law Institute, in addition to working as a staff writer for the DePaul Journal of health Care Law. Vanessa earned her B.A. in English and a minor in journalism from Augustana College.

Vanessa spends her spare time with family and friends, taking advantage of all the benefits the four seasons and many activities in West Michigan have to offer. She and her husband particularly enjoy the beach and watching their young sons play sports.
