Philip A. Grashoff, Jr. is one of Michigan’s most experienced and respected environmental attorneys as evidenced by his inclusion in “The Best Lawyers in America” for Environmental Law and Litigation for more than 30 years.
He has also been included in other annual listings, such as “Super Lawyers,” “DBusiness Top Lawyers,” and “Leading Lawyers.” He continues to receive an AV Preeminent Judicial Rating by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest honor by his peers and the Judiciary.

Phil brings his expertise to agriculture, agribusiness and food processing industry sectors. He joins a group of attorneys in the delivery of legal services which includes litigation, real estate, labor, environment and energy, succession planning, insurance and construction law, among others.
He has been appointed as a facilitator for environmental cases by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan and is a member of the Voluntary Facilitative Mediation Panel for the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan and is certified as a civil facilitative mediator in Kent and Oakland County Circuit Courts.
Phil has also represented clients in administrative hearings, local, state and federal trial and appellate courts, including the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the United States 6th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United State Supreme Court. He is also a former registered lobbyist with the State of Michigan.
Phil is a former Special Assistant Attorney General in connection with the Flint Water Litigation.
