Michael Miller is a lead trial attorney and shareholder in Smith Haughey’s Ann Arbor office, where he serves as managing partner. He has 16 years of experience representing and vigorously defending hospitals, doctors, nurses, and numerous other health care providers in medical malpractice litigation and at trial.

His clients have included major academic medical centers, regional medical centers, obstetricians, emergency medicine physicians, internists, surgeons, anesthesiologists, otolaryngologists, neurologists, nurses, and many others.

Before joining Smith Haughey, Michael represented clients in a variety of litigation matters, especially medical malpractice, for a mid-sized firm in his home state of South Carolina. There he gained substantial experience in all phases of litigation, including facilitations, hearings, and trials, as well as multiple appeals in the state appellate courts.

Michael earned his bachelor’s degree from Clemson University and his Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School.

In his free time, Michael enjoys exploring all that Ann Arbor has to offer as well as spending time with his family, gardening, cooking, and traveling.
