Jeffrey Hart is a trial lawyer in the Ann Arbor office with 27 years of experience.
Jeffrey litigates complex commercial, employment, construction, professional liability, transportation, OSHA, and MIOSHA matters. He has represented Fortune 500 companies, cities, universities, hospitals, physician groups, and individuals in civil, regulatory, and criminal matters. In addition, he has experience with maritime law, including the Jones Act and the U.S. Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act, representing shipping concerns and waterway terminal owners.
Jeffrey serves as lead counsel for a Fortune 500 beverage company, a national specialty gas/propane company, and crane companies in large-scale crane accident cases. He also handles commercial litigation, employment, and general liability matters for major companies in various industries, including sports equipment and transportation. He has tried more than 280 cases before various administrative agencies, judges, and juries. He has also argued cases before the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the Michigan Court of Appeals, and the Illinois Appellate Court.
Jeffrey provides pro bono legal services to Detroit’s homeless population via Homeless Experience Legal Protection (H.E.L.P.). His involvement with Project H.E.L.P. Detroit spans 10 years and includes fundraising for the Pope Francis Center at Ss. Peter and Paul Jesuit Church in Detroit.
Jeffrey earned his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
