About the scoring system
To be eligible for U.S. News – Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms”, firms must have at least one attorney in The Best Lawyers in America list for that year, practice area, and location. Then, firms are scored based on a combination of client feedback, firm surveys, and peer review responses.
Firms aren’t ranked sequentially but in tiers. Firms in the first tier have scores within a certain percentage of the highest-scoring firms. Subsequent tiers list firms with scores within a certain percentage of the next highest-scoring firms, and so on.
